Which metals does it support?
Gold (XAU), silver (XAG), platinum (XPT) and palladium (XPD), plus the gold/silver price ratio.
Do I need an account or an API key?
No account or API key is needed for live prices and regular alerts. To enable the optional previous-trading-session daily-change calculation, you can add your own free personal Gold-API key in Settings.
Can I track coins and bars I already own?
Yes. In My Bullion you can enter metal, quantity, weight basis, purity and optional total purchase cost for each holding. Your portfolio can contain different precious metals.
Where is my bullion data stored?
Your holdings and purchase costs are saved locally by the extension. They are not sent to the market-data providers. You can export your holdings as CSV; keeping a backup is important because removing the extension may remove its local data.
How do price alerts work?
Choose a metal, a price threshold and whether to alert above or below it. BullionBell monitors prices and can show a Chrome notification and play an alert sound when the condition is met.
