Privacy at BullionBell
We believe your bullion holdings are your business. Here's how the extension and website handle data.
Last updated: 9 October 20261. Your bullion portfolio stays on your device
When you use the My Bullion feature, the entries you create—including metal types, quantities, weights, purities and optional purchase costs—are stored in Chrome's local extension storage. BullionBell does not operate a cloud account or server to collect these holdings.
Importing and exporting CSV files takes place within your browser. Keep your own backups: removing the extension or clearing its storage may erase locally stored information.
2. Market-data requests
The extension contacts third-party market-data services to obtain precious-metal quotes and currency conversion rates. Its configured providers are Gold-API (primary) and Frankfurter (FX fallback). Requests identify the metal and/or currency needed to retrieve quotes; they do not include your bullion holdings or purchase costs.
If you enable historical closing-price features using your personal Gold-API key, the extension sends that key to Gold-API to authenticate the associated API requests. Those services may handle technical connection information under their own policies.
3. Alerts and extension settings
Price-alert thresholds, display preferences and the optional historical-data API key are saved as extension settings in the browser. Alerts are evaluated by the extension and delivered through Chrome's notification and sound features.
